United States Demographic Trends

This chapter expands on previous chapters as it describes the various demographic trends that are affecting US society. The US population in the 2020s is almost unrecognizable to those with a twentieth century perspective. Virtually every demographic trend has been affected by developments in US society. The population has changed to the point that there are an increasing number of “firsts” when it comes to demographic attributes. The impact of past trends is examined, and the anticipated implications of current trends explored.
