Competitive Advantage Through Analytical Capabilities: An Examination of the Relationship Between Business Analytics Capabilities and Competitiveness of Jordanian SMEs

The research seeks to delve into the influence of business analytics capabilities on the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Utilizing a convenience sample of 249 managers from SMEs, data were collected and subjected to a rigorous analysis, with hypotheses examined through the application of structural equation modeling. The findings from this study revealed that the various dimensions of business analytics capabilities, encompassing human skills, tangible resources, and intangible resources, exerted a demonstrably positive impact on competitiveness. Consequently, the implication for SMEs is the imperative need to make astute investments in analytics education and training programs. This strategic action is aimed at endowing their workforce with the essential skills required to effectively harness data, thereby enhancing the overall competitiveness of the organization.
