Career Decision-Making Self-efficacy Among Palestinian High School Students

The purpose of this study was to assess Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy (CDMSE) among Palestinian Eleventh and Tenth Grade students. Career decision self-efficacy—short form—was administered to a sample of 430 students randomly chosen from population of all Eleventh and Tenth Grade students (N = 9902) of public schools in Nablus city in Palestine. Males (n = 214, 49.8%), and females (n = 216, 50.2%) were also represented. Findings revealed that the level of career decision making self-efficacy was high, and that there were no significant differences in career decision-making self-efficacy in regard to gender and grade. It is concluded that the findings of our study may be useful and applicable if the meditational role of career decision-making self-efficacy is considered in offering diverse and multicultural counseling services whether by developmental programs or preventive or remedial ones targeting Palestinian high school students.
