Towards Serverless & Microservices Architecture: Strategies, Challenges, and Insights into Technology
摘要
The rapid evolution of software development and the increasing complexity of modern applications have prompted organizations to adopt serverless and microservices architectures. These architectural approaches offer numerous benefits, including improved scalability, flexibility, and maintainability. However, transitioning from monolithic architectures to serverless and microservices-based systems presents unique challenges and requires a thorough understanding of best practices. This paper comprehensively examines the key issues and best practices associated with transitioning to serverless and microservices architectures. To achieve this objective, we employ a mixed methods approach, combining a literature review, case studies, and a survey of industry practitioners. Our findings reveal critical challenges organizations face during the transition and effective strategies for overcoming these obstacles. Furthermore, case studies of successful implementations are presented in this work, highlighting valuable lessons and insights that can inform the approaches of others looking to adopt these modern architectures. Finally, we conclude by discussing the implications of our findings for software engineering practice and suggesting future research directions in serverless and microservices architectures.
