Role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Accounting Information Systems in Detecting Fraud
摘要
Current study aimed at examining the role of artificial intelligence (Data Gathering, Automation, Accurate Reporting, Enhanced Efficiency and Predictive Analysis) in accounting information systems in detecting and preventing fraud. Quantitative approach was used and a questionnaire was distributed on a convenient sample of (187) financial and accounting managers within hotel industry in Jordan. SPSS was employed in order to screen and analyze gathered data; results of study accepted the main hypothesis and it was found that artificial intelligence in AIS can be positively influential in detecting fraud. Among the chosen sub-variables it was seen that the correlation coefficient of variables scored an r = 0.837 which indicated that artificial intelligence significantly explained 70.1% of the variation in the dependent variable (fraud detection) with favoring predictive analysis as the most influential variable of all. Study recommended automating document processing with artificial intelligence in order to save time and reduces chances of mistakes. Further recommendations were presented in the study. Contribution of current study launches from the fact that the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Accounting Information Systems (AIS) can contribute significantly to detecting fraud.
