摘要

A successful and satisfying academic career largely impinges on one’s ability to conduct and publish academic research. In this book, I have maintained that successful academic publishing depends on two important sets of skill: ability to conduct credible research and ability to “package” your research for readers’ consumption. I have argued that much of the formal training of academic researchers in doctoral programs focus on research methodologies, largely ignoring the training for academic publishing. Skills at publishing are likely to be developed through experience over relatively longer time. The main purpose for writing this book is to help close the gaps in research and publication skill disparities between early career researchers and those with experience, as well as among researchers with different levels of preparation for academic research and publishing.
