摘要

Productivity, cognitive performance, and well-being in the workplace are affected by artificial lighting. Therefore, this systematic review aimed to review the studies conducted about the impact of artificial lighting on office worker’s behaviour. This review study systematically searched articles from 2018 to 2023 in databases of Scopus using keywords of artificial lighting, human behaviour, performance, well-being, and cognition. The titles and of articles’ abstracts to extract relevant results over the last 5 years. Hence, they were screened according to the title, publication year, method, and study results. According to the findings, improving correlated colour temperature (CCT) to align with cooler colours while sufficiently maintaining illuminance value contributes to creating an office environment that optimizes performance and positive employee experiences. The review identifies the research gaps and limitations in sample size, participant diversity, evaluation methods, and data analysis. Ethical considerations and experimental design issues also need addressing. Overall, the existing studies cover factors such as illumination level and correlated colour temperature, but further research is required to address the impact of flickering, glare, and colour rendering on worker behaviour.
