摘要

This chapter examines the relationship between transportation indicators and their impact on traffic safety in municipalities. The study utilizes regression analysis to assess the influence of indicators variables on traffic safety outcomes. Additionally, clustering analysis is performed to group municipalities based on similarities in the independent variables. The regression analysis reveals that local accessibility, public transport network per inhabitant, and international accessibility significantly affect traffic safety. Municipalities with higher levels of these variables tend to have better traffic safety outcomes. The clustering analysis categorizes municipalities into distinct clusters, highlighting differences in the levels of transportation indicators and traffic safety. Based on the findings, recommendations are provided for practice, emphasizing the importance of improving local accessibility, enhancing the public transport network and focusing on international accessibility to enhance traffic safety. Furthermore, suggestions are given for improvement, such as collecting more detailed data, incorporating qualitative information, and fostering collaboration among municipalities. This chapter concludes by emphasizing the significance of continuous monitoring and evaluation, the integration of advanced technologies, and collaboration between researchers and practitioners. Additionally, it highlights the need for longitudinal analysis and the consideration of other factors that may influence traffic safety. Overall, this research contributes to the understanding of the relationship between transportation indicators and traffic safety and provides valuable insights and recommendations for municipalities to enhance their transportation systems and improve traffic safety outcomes. The findings can inform policymakers, urban planners, and transportation authorities in their efforts to create safer and more efficient transportation networks for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.
