Policy for Future Pandemics: Creating a Positive Attitude Towards Vaccines

This chapter ties all our findings related to vaccine uptake, positive attitudes towards vaccines, and real-time data to gauge the mood and emotions of nations towards vaccines. The chapter begins by discussing successful policies to create favourable perceptions of vaccines and exploring effective messaging strategies leveraging social media platforms. Furthermore, it discusses the important role of data-driven insights derived from the sentiments and emotions expressed by individuals online in informing policymakers’ decision-making processes in real time. The chapter explains the significance of harnessing real-time social media sentiment data (RTSocMed) to gauge the prevailing mood of nations and guide proactive policy interventions. By employing advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, policymakers gain invaluable insights into public sentiments and emotions, enabling them to swiftly anticipate and address emerging concerns.
