Selected Methods for Improving the Quality of Production Processes

Quality is a concept that primarily denotes the degree to which specific requirements are met, achieving the desired level of excellence. Quality management aims to influence and organize the management system for the managed system, encompassing everything that leads to quality objectives. By performing traditional management functions such as planning, organizing, leading, and controlling, a company can achieve its quality management goals. To achieve the desired results and implement satisfactory improvements, it is essential to diagnose potential issues, assess their effects, and finally propose and implement effective solutions. To this end, suitable methods are applied, and the presentation of selected methods was the aim of this article. First, an analysis and evaluation of factors affecting the reduction of quality levels in the examined company were carried out, using the Ishikawa diagram and Pareto-Lorenz analysis. Then, using the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method, recommendations for improving the implemented processes were proposed. The conducted study clearly indicates the benefits of using such methods. They enable the development of the ability to continuously improve the company's operation, improve the quality of the products or services offered, and ultimately comprehensively meet customer needs.
