摘要

Currently, there are 4 nuclear power plants (NPPs) operating in Ukraine with 15 power units of the WWER-1000 and WWER-440 types. Each NPP requires the timely replacement of expired equipment for safe operation. About 60% of the country’s electricity generation in Ukraine in 2022 was done by NPPs. At the same time, it is worth noting that 7 out of 15 Ukrainian power units have decommissioning dates no later than 2028. This can lead to a loss of up to 20% of electricity generation. To prevent such negative trends, the service life of these power units should be extended with a deep renovation of the existing equipment. Therefore, the article aims to research and develop critical pumping equipment with improved performance (e.g., efficiency, suction capacity) for reactors of the WWER-1000 type. The research was supplemented by top-level design principles, achieving high-performance levels, and design safety considerations. As a result, the development and implementation of modern pumping equipment for the nuclear power industry guarantees the reliability and operation safety of NPPs.
