Stuck in the Middle

A 34-year-old man presents for progressive dysphagia to liquids and solids. The patient was unable to tolerate placement of the esophageal manometry catheter. This chapter demonstrates how testing with barium esophagram and the endoluminal functional lumen imaging probe can be used to achieve a diagnosis when esophageal manometry is not a diagnostic option.
