Heartburn Without Reflux

A 32-year-old woman presents with frequent throat clearing and heartburn. Nasolaryngoscopy suggested laryngopharyngeal reflux, but pH testing showed physiologic acid exposure without symptoms association to acid reflux events. This chapter discusses the diagnosis and management of the implied functional esophageal disorder.
