GERD That Would Not Get Better

A 55-year-old woman with prior radiation treatment for lymphoma presents with reflux symptoms. Workup revealed increased esophageal acid exposure and a complete lack of organized esophageal peristalsis. This chapter discusses absent contractility and its relationship with GERD.
