One Hand Braille Assistive for Computer Application
摘要
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there are 2.2 billion people with blindness disability worldwide as of 2019 As reading is an essential educational strategy, the tactile Braille writing system, frequently written on embossed paper, is used by people with vision impairments. However, in this digitised era, most electronic publications are done online. Braille systems have been produced, but such systems are relatively expensive, which further restricts the visually impaired in terms of reading intelligence and being in phase with the current trends and changes in the world. One-hand braille assistive for computer applications would be proposed to cater for the problem at hand. To further elaborate, the one-hand braille assistive is in the form of a glove, electromagnetic push-pull solenoids where the solenoid movement represents different braille characters. Since the proposed prototype is more focused on computer applications, thus the proposed prototype is inclusive of five other functions: arrow-key keyboard, virtual mouse, digital text to speech, voice command and emergency features.
