Development of a Mechanomyography (MMG)-Based Muscle Strength Monitoring Tool for Long Covid Patients
摘要
A mechanomyography (MMG)-based muscle strength sensor was developed for monitoring muscle performance improvement and integrated with a smartphone application for clinical use, especially for long covid patient rehabilitation. The work was divided into two major parts. The first part is the selection of optimal operating criteria for MMG sensors. The second part is the development of a dedicated smartphone application for MMG reading and client data storage. This paper justifies the type of accelerometer used, the selection of the microcontroller, the algorithm code, and the development of the LabView diagram. Finally, the smartphone app layout and the prototype are presented to demonstrate the completion of the development work. The app and smartphone application are then used to monitor the muscle strength of healthy individuals first and post covid subjects. The objective of this study is achieved as the prototype and smartphone applications can produce logical results.
