Situation-Focused Coping: A Problem-Solving Approach
摘要
Young people going through a difficult time can feel helpless, and the smallest of problems can feel challenging or overwhelming. A lack of positive future-directed thinking, hopelessness and impulse control problems can make it harder for young people with self-harm to solve problems. Teaching young people a stepwise approach to manage problems improves their situation-focused coping. It helps them break down the problem in parts and find ways to address parts of the problem that can be influenced or changed.
