Modernising Christian Views on Sex

The church’s moral welfare organisations made various efforts to implement a new, positive, constructive, and forward-looking Christian approach towards issues of sex and relationships during the interwar period. They contributed to the new genre of sex and marriage advice literature, which became popular after the First World War, and enjoyed success in securing institutional support for their new, modernised Anglican approach, notably at the 1930 Lambeth Conference.
