摘要

The evolution of the concept of “environmental safety” is linked with changes in the concept and practice of sustainable development (ecological imperative). The implementation of the transition to sustainable development is influenced by political and economic forces in society, which depend on the socioeconomic model of the country. This paper continues our exploration of the green economy and sustainable development. The object of our study is the evolution of the concept of “environmental safety” in the context of new regionalism. The objective of this study is to trace the evolution of the concept of “environmental safety” in the context of the new regionalism and to show the political and economic subjects promoting the concept of a green economy. The methodology is based on a political-economic approach. We used scientific results published in the works of domestic and foreign scientists, as well as the results that were obtained by co-authors when carrying out individual research projects. The evolution of the concept of “environmental safety” is considered. We have identified political and economic subjects promoting the concept of a green economy as well as revealed the features of these processes in the context of new regionalism, caused by increased global political and economic competition and the formation of a risk economy. We also showed the significance and limitations of the findings, as well as prospects for further research.
