Cell-Derived Materials for Wound Healing

摘要

Wound healing is a complicated and exciting phenomenon involving the interaction of several types of cells and substances. Wounds have been treated with various medicines to improve the healing process. Approaches for managing different wounds make up a global business worth billions of dollars. These approaches and subsequent medications include traditional and advanced biological wound dresses, cell-based products, and skin replacements containing auto/allogenic-derived agents. Since stem cells are the essential components of cell-based therapies for wounds, they must be administered safely through biocompatible compounds created by bioactive agents. Notably, innovative wound healing techniques, including cell-based therapeutics, have been significantly altered in this sector. Using cell-derived biomaterials such as collagen, hyaluronic acid, chitosan, and elastin, different cell-based products, particularly various mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), have been successfully used to heal a variety of wounds. This chapter discusses current breakthroughs in using cell-derived materials for wound healing.
