摘要

Nursery teachers often suffer from burnout due to the demanding nature of their role, as they are tasked with taking care of young children’s development during a critical phase of growth. The combination of emotional labor, managing large class sizes, and the need for constant attention to the children’s needs often contributes to the high level of stress and fatigue. In this study, Maslach Burnout Inventory-Educators Survey (MBI-ES) was administered to 105 nursery teachers located in the city of Istanbul, Türkiye. Any responses that were found to be incomplete or misleading were excluded from the study and various statistical and machine learning methods were performed on the remaining MBI-ES data collected (100 participants). The predictions, profiles and analysis revealed significant insights into the specific factors (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment) contributing to burnout. Nursery teacher burnout is a very complex issue; however, the insights derived from this study provide a framework for interventions specific to nursery teachers to understand, address and support them in their profession, in the hopes of enabling supportive kindergarten teaching environment.
