Flexible Workplace
摘要
In this chapter we describe the research related to flexible workplace policies and programs. Specifically, we discuss the positive and negative consequences associated with work-life balance (WLB) practices: employee and organizational wellbeing outcomes. We also explain how this WLB practices contribute to employee and organizational wellbeing in terms of reduced employee cost of working, time savings, perceived autonomy, boundary flexibility, signaling management trust and support for employees, and comfort and ambiance of the new workplace. We then describe how this WLB strategy is commonly implemented through telecommuting, working from home, and e-working. Finally, we discuss those conditions (personal, organizational, and environmental conditions) that influence the overall effectiveness of this WLB practice.
