Schedule Flexibility
摘要
In this chapter, we define flexible work schedule policies and program. We describe the positive and negative consequences related to these practices—outcomes related to both employee and organizational wellbeing. We explain these effects in terms of theories related to perception of control, person-job fit, and reciprocity. We then describe a variety of different types of flexible scheduling practices, namely flexible work time, compressed work week, absence autonomy, and open rota. We then discuss factors that moderate the effectiveness of schedule flexibility in terms of personal, program, and environmental factors.
