The Endocrine System consists the following organs: Hypothalamus, pituitary (anterior & posterior parts), pineal, thyroid, 4 parathyroids, thymus, pancreas (islets of Langerhans, not acini), 2 adrenals, 2 gonads, placenta. (In addition the skin contributes vit D; gut – digestion controlling hormones, kidneys – erythropoietin, liver – angiotensinogen, adipose tissue – leptin)
