The Reckoning and the Waiting

When the returning members of the Arve Staxrud Norwegian rescue expedition (the official German rescue expedition) had arrived in Green Harbour on May 18, they had continued working, rotating assignments throughout the remainder of May, as reported by Daniel Nøis (1929, 10). Most likely, part of their work was making preparations for the second trek to Treurenberg Bay to search for Herbert Schröder-Stranz himself and the rest of the men who were still missing.
