While the Arve Staxrud rescue expedition had been making its way north toward Treurenberg Bay during the month of April 1913, two simultaneous excursions had been taking place—the procession of the remaining Schröder-Stranz Norwegian crewmembers from Advent Bay to Green Harbour, and the retreat of the early-returning Staxrud expeditioners from the north back to Advent Bay.
