The month of April 1913 began with an abundance of snowfall and a lack of food for the four Schröder-Stranz expeditioners still taking refuge in the hut at Cross Point (Einar Rotvold Diary). Nonetheless, Einar Rotvold, August Stenersen, Julius Jensen, and Jørgen Jensen met the occasion. On that first day of April, the men went grouse hunting in the mountains and caught three grouse for supper, but the situation could not continue in this manner.
