Educational leaders across the globe have come to realize commonalities in problems that, when shared and explored culturally, provide opportunities to benefit individuals and their communities at the local school level. This chapter will present the genesis of Educational Leaders Without Borders (ELWB), which has challenged traditional roles undertaken through leadership preparation, professional organizations, funding sources, and peer-reviewed research, which together have narrowed the thinking of knowledge by gatekeepers in the field of educational leadership. ELWB historically has endeavored to challenge educational leaders to bravely confront the propagandized thinking dominating the field.
