Nutritional Care in Gastrointestinal Surgery

Standardized nutritional screening before cancer operations and other major surgical interventions, along with subsequent nutritional assessment and if necessary, therapeutic intervention, has to be part of every surgical pathway for high-risk populations. In the following chapter, current routines addressing these steps are reviewed and summarized.
