Risk Reduction in Diabetic Patients Undergoing Orthopaedic Surgery

The evolution of the modern Patient Safety Movement has led to the current practice of risk reduction in patients undergoing complex orthopaedic surgical procedures by improving medical co-morbidities. This chapter will give the practicing surgeon a guide to addressing medical co-morbidities to allow performing complex reconstructive orthopaedic surgery with a minimal risk exposure.
