Tesla Turbine Prototypes

This chapter describes the Tesla turbine prototypes that have been designed, built and tested by the Authors to validate the design procedure, as well as to identify the performance gap due to losses. Both compressible and incompressible fluids have been employed. Several geometrical features are published for the air prototype, nominal power 3 kW electrical, and for the water prototype, nominal power 1 kW electrical. The reader is provided with sufficient data to reproduce the machines or to validate own numerical simulation models.
