The DICE Model
摘要
Dementia affects more than 6 million people in the USA with over 15 million nonformal caregivers (usually family members) providing unpaid care in the community [1]. As dementia progresses, people living with dementia (PLWD) are frequently cared for in long-term care facilities by professional caregivers (e.g., nurses and health aides). While many think of dementia as a “memory” disorder, often the most troubling symptoms to both PLWD and their caregivers are the behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) [2].
