Conclusions, Challenges, and Emerging Trends

The objective of this chapter is twofold: (1) summarize the concepts and applications of the Cyber-Collaborative Protocol (CCP) as an emerging type of Task Administration Protocol (TAP) to control and optimize complex systems; and (2) summarize the findings and contributions of CCP, using Agricultural Robotics System (ARS) as a representative example of a modern, complex system. In the previous chapters, we present examples of CCP as they contribute to various levels of ARS operation, including system level, agent level, algorithm level, auxiliary level, and system-of-systems level. CCP, utilized as a key tool for planning, optimizing, and harmonizing interactions, shows the contribution and importance of cyber and collaboration in ARS. This chapter also presents the linkage between all the chapters in this book. Lastly, relevant emerging trends are presented so researchers and engineers can prepare for future technological advancements and opportunities. The advancement of new technologies will surely have positive impacts on the design of forthcoming CCP in agriculture, business, industry, services, and government.
