Life-Story Book Creation to Enhance Life Satisfaction for Older Adults
摘要
A randomized controlled study was conducted in Singapore and aimed to examine the impacts of life-story book creation for older adults on their life satisfaction. This study recruited 47 older adults (23 life-story and 24 control) aged 60+ years in Singapore. Life Satisfaction Index A (LSIA) was used to measure life satisfaction, and data obtained 5 times included baseline over 8 weeks and were analyzed using generalized estimating equation adjusted by demographic factors. Statistical significance between the group on LSIA was found within 8 weeks. The life-story book group showed a higher LSIA than the control group at week 2, 3, 4, 8. The life-story book creation can be used as an early preventive method for healthcare professionals to enhance life quality for older adults.
