摘要

The study aims to develop an explanatory model for macroeconomic (ME), sociodemographic (SD), and health status-resources (HSR) factors on life expectancy (LE) in Kuwait. Partial least squares-structural equation was used to study 41-year LE data in the Kuwait population. There are significant direct effects from ME (β = 0.520, p = 0.010) and HSR (β = 0.435, p = 0.036) to LE. There is also a significant indirect effect from ME to LE via SD and HSR (β = 0.372, p = 0.047), while SD has a significant indirect effect on LE via HSR (β = 0.394, p = 0.049). The final model showed that intervention and improvement should be made by considering all the significant factors of ME, SD, and HSR. The model implied a need to form policies to comprehensively approach key factors involving ME, SD, and HSR aspects to change the Kuwait population’s health behaviors and improve the LE projection of Kuwaiti in the long run.
