摘要

In water resources projects, the significant element for ensuring project feasibility and cost control is the ground subsurface conditions. Detailed geological and geotechnical site exploration is needed for confirmation of foundation conditions. The geoparameteric database of the integrated geotechnical, the geological investigation was used for analyzing the project site conditions along the dam alignment for dam appurtenant structures. Core recovery, Rock quality designation (RQD), Percolation (Lugeon) values, Fracture data, and Lithology data for the study area Bhama Askhed Irrigation Project were used to narrow down the geologically challenging locations with the particular unsuitable trends of geoparameters. The interpretation is used to identify locations of geologic anomalies with possible problems. The analysis has revealed unfavourable lithology, and weak zones, of the foundation stratum; thus, identifying the location and spatial extent of remedial grouting required. The study highlighted the need for proper integration and comprehensive analysis of geodata for critical dam foundation decisions. The analysis results compare well with the energy-dissipating assembly failure causes established by Central Water and Power Research Station Pune. The causes and extends of tail channel erosion over the period are analyzed and recommendations are given.
