Removal of Priority Pollutants Using Photocatalysis and Wastewater Remediation
摘要
The present study has been carried out by selecting 4-nitroaniline as the model compound. UV photo reactor is used for the photo degradation of 4-nitroaniline. Experiments were carried out in slurry mode at optimal conditions. The degradation of 4-nitroaniline was studied by measuring the color shift and change in Chemical oxygen demand (COD). Various reaction factors including the effect of light radiations, catalyst amount, concentration of pollutant and pH have been studied and analyzed to understand the specific processes. The study also presents a review of the photocatalytic degradation of priority contaminants. The study reveals that heterogeneous photo-catalysts could be used in an effective and environmentally safe strategy to decompose 4-nitroaniline and actual effluents completely. According to the investigation, the research highlighted the significance of choosing optimum degradation parameters for the functional implementation of this operation.
