Integration of LCZ to Planning Strategies
摘要
Facing ongoing urbanization and climate change, urban dwellers are expected to suffer from an increasing number of extreme weather events with significant economic and health loss. Hence, urban climatic considerations are important for urban planning or city design practice to improve the quality of the living environment. This chapter will discuss how to link LCZ-based application studies to planning practice, taking examples of urban thermal environment, carbon emission and air ventilation studies. Additionally, the incorporation of LCZ into the urban planning system will be further discussed to show a potential way for urban planners, architects and government officials to employ the LCZ scheme.
