Software Defined Optical Wireless Network with AI
摘要
Artificial intelligence (AI) is playing a crucial role in monitoring the behaviour of virtual machines and applications within AT&T’s Software Defined Network (SDN). By continuously analyzing the performance and status of these components, AI algorithms can quickly detect any issues or degradation in service. Once identified, the AI system can make decisions on how to address the problem without impacting the customer’s experience. For example, if an issue is detected, the AI system can decide to seamlessly transfer the network traffic to another machine without the customer even noticing. Alternatively, if a reboot is necessary, the AI system can determine the most appropriate time to perform the reboot, minimizing downtime and disruption. In some cases, AI may even propose alternative solutions to resolve the issue. By leveraging AI in this way, SDN operators can benefit from traditional intelligence applied at scale and speed, enabling them to proactively address network problems and maintain a high level of service quality. The integration of AI into SDN brings automation to network management, enhances the agility of network, which optimizes resource allocation, resulting in cost savings and improved performance.
