Satellite and Terrestrial Mobile Integration-Potential and Open Issues for 5G and Terahertz Communication

Revolution of 5G technology advances the growth in wireless communication. However, terrestrial network cannot be sufficient to support the enormous growth of wireless users. The integrated network can bring a transformation in 5G communication in terms of the capacity and quality of service which can bring the progress in 6G communication. Satellite communication can be considered as alternative communication for broadcasting and for providing service in hostile terrain. Network problem is an issue in remote areas like in mountain, sea etc. If the interconnection between these two networks can be established the network problem can be solved. However, there are some open issues in the integration process. The two networks should be compatible with each other. Here, the challenges and opportunities of hybrid connection have been discussed. The dual network can be applied for the evolution of 6G or Terahertz communication.
