The Analog Design of a Voltage Generator in 180 nm CMOS Technology

摘要

Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a technology that enables the identification and tracking of objects or individuals at a distance and by sending a signal from the reader through electromagnetic waves to the tag, in turn the antenna of the latter receives these waves and feeds the chip that interprets the information and sends it to the reader in the same way. In this paper, we analyze the analog design and layout of an ultra-high-frequency (UHF) RFID tag utilizing the advanced features of the Cadence software. This work will provide an in-depth examination of the circuit simulation process, with a primary focus on achieving comprehensive simulations of the entire circuit while optimizing key parameters. We present the analog design of a VDD voltage generator for a radio frequency identification system and more particularly the design of a passive RFID tag in the UHF band at a frequency of 900 MHz and in CMOS 180 nm technology. By delving into the intricacies of the UHF RFID tag design, we aimed to explore the potential for optimizing performance, enhancing reliability, and further advancing the capabilities of RFID technology in this specific frequency range. Through meticulous design and layout methodologies, we strive to develop a robust and efficient UHF RFID tag solution that aligns with industry standards and best practices.
