Investigation on LP-OFDM for THz Application
摘要
Transmission over terahertz (THz) bands faces some challenges such as the LOS and NLOS components. These issues are all the more topical as the transmitted speeds increase exponentially. Therefore, we need a strong communication system in order to transmit data correctly over this channel. The family of multi-carrier modulations of which Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) is a part makes it possible to respond to this challenge by using sub-carriers that are not very sensitive to multi-paths and frequency selectivity, which are easy to equalize. Moreover, the use of linear precoding allows better use of the frequency diversity of the channel. It also offers greater granularity in the choice of flow rates, thus growing the suppleness of the system. It is essential to emphasize that the accumulation of the linear precoding function comes with a minimal increase in the complexity of the system. For these reasons, we will focus on the linear precoding technique on OFDM modulation (LP-OFDM) and the additional advantages presented by this LP-OFDM technique for our study in order to understand the interest of having recourse to this additional operation. In this paper, we propose a LP-OFDM to improve the performance of a wireless communication system in terms of throughput.
