Psychological Operations and Hybrid War in Brazil: Setting Parameters for a Takeover of the State

Since 2013, there has been a great deal of speculation both in academic circles and in publications of the most varied types about what causes Brazilian state institutions to experience “disruption” movements. “Polarization”, “crisis”, and “anomie” were terms widely used to try to explain a movement that started with a kind of “spontaneous history” that erupted in protests directed against several of the chains of political representation in 2013 (Dent & Pinheiro-Machado, 2013).
