Analysis of Analog Systems in Frequency Domain

In this chapter, we apply the theory of continuous-time Fourier transformation presented in Chap. 2 to study the properties of continuous-time LTI systems (analog filters) in frequency domain. The reader will get to know different types of ideal and real analog filters (low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and band-stop). The notion of the frequency response function of an analog filter is introduced. We will show how spectrum characteristics of a signal change passing through an analog filter. One will also learn to compute the response of a system to the known input signal. The method of frequency transformation applied in analog filter design is also presented.
