Analysis of Systems in Time Domain

摘要

In this chapter, we introduce the notion of a system and we analyze system properties in time domain. The reader will get familiar with continuous- and discrete-time systems and their basic features: causality, linearity, and time-invariance. We introduce two functions characterizing a system in time domain, that is, impulse response and step response of an LTI (linear time-invariant) system. Equations describing LTI continuous- and discrete-time systems are presented. We will show how to compute the system response to the known input signal or vice versa. To make this theory complete, block diagrams of systems in different configurations are considered.
