The Economy and the Many Economies

The distinguished economist Georgescu-Rogan accepted an invitation to visit the Economics Department at the University of Ghana. He explained that he had never been to Africa and was keen to learn something about West Africa. Within hours of the drive from the airport, he gave a seminar on life in a Ghanaian village. His topic surprised the teachers as did the many nods of recognition from the student audience. After the seminar we asked Professor Georgescu-Rogan how he managed to display such insight.
