What Is an Economist?

Harry Johnson was an economist of enormous intellect and boundless energy. In the 1960s and 1970s, he held joint professorships at the University of Chicago and the London School of Economics. While visiting the University of Ghana he decided to give a seminar at the sister University of Cape Coast. The road passes the largest slave exporting fort in West Africa. Approaching near a village, the university-provided chauffeur-driven car hit and killed a goat. The accident broke the headlamp on the driver’s side.
