Field Measurement Study on Wind Characteristics of Monsoon in Coastal Terrain of Xiamen

To explore the distribution of the parameters of the monsoon wind field in the coastal area around the eastern sea of Xiamen, the lidars were used to carry out the field measurement study. The vertical multi-altitude observation and the plane area scanning was executed at the same time. The results observed by fixed station and movable lidar are analyzed and compared, and the variation rules of wind field parameters such as wind velocity, wind direction, ground roughness coefficient are discussed. The results show that the multi-dimensional lidar system is capable to effectively improve the understanding of the spatiotemporal variability of the large space wind field and is of great significance to comprehend the regulation of the regional wind field. The seasonal variation of wind parameters is particularly important for the projects with long construction period and long-span structures. The change of the dominant wind direction will affect the characteristic parameters of the ground roughness, which should be paid attention to in the structural design.
