To Be Who We Are: A Dissenting Church: Two Proposals

  • Cláudio Carvalhaes

摘要

Dissidence and contestation are a fundamental part of the history of the Christian church. This chapter wrestles with the relation between normalcy and contestation, conflict and disagreement, inside and outside in the history of theological power of the church. This analysis carries a call for the church to inhabit two dissent places: the place of interreligious dialogues based on the notion of confluence from Antônio Bispo dos Santos and the dissent place of the earth, based on the affirmation of Bruno Latour that we have never landed. At the end, dissent must be at the heart of Christian faith.
