The Impact of Hospitals’ Commitment to Social Responsibility on Perceived Medical Service Quality: An Empirical Study on a Sample of Private Hospital Patients in Amman, Jordan

The purpose of the study is to examine how hospitals’ commitment to social responsibility affects the perceived quality of healthcare services in private hospitals located in Amman, Jordan. The study employs a descriptive-analytical approach and collected data from primary and secondary sources. To achieve this goal, 500 questionnaires were handed out to patients in private hospitals in Amman, and 485 of them were returned, with 463 being valid for statistical analysis. The study used descriptive statistical measures to illustrate the study variables. The results of the study demonstrated a positive correlation between social responsibility and perceived quality of healthcare services. The study also reveals that different aspects of social responsibility, such as economic, legal, ethical, and human, have a statistically significant effect on the perceived quality of healthcare services. Moreover, the participants in the study had a favorable attitude towards the quality of healthcare services provided by private hospitals. The study recommends that hospitals concentrate on the various dimensions of social responsibility due to their significant impact on healthcare quality and establish specialized units to address social responsibility issues.
